Dreamfall: The Longest Journey Hints
Once I'm in the core, how do I deploy the worm?
of 9: There's an actual upload port on the core. It's just a question of not getting caught.
of 9: As Damien says, the scientists mainly keep to themselves, as long as you don't get too close. Zoë will be able to see them before they see you. That is, you can see them through the core, but they won't always see you unless they have a direct line of sight.
of 9: You just need to observe their movement patterns carefully enough that you don't get caught.
of 9: If you want to solve this on your own, it may take a few tries of dying then reloading. While you can always walk away from a scientist, it's possible that another scientist will be coming the opposite direction and trap you. The best way to avoid this is to learn the patterns of both scientists and plan ahead.
of 9: Or if you want to know how to get past them all, just read ahead.
of 9: If you imagine that the entrance is at 6-o'clock and the stairs down are at about 10-o'clock, walk all the way around the core counterclockwise (to the right) until you're about at 12-o'clock -- just shy of the stairs.
of 9: The female scientist will start to come towards you, coming clockwise from the stairs. Stay ahead of her, and go back around clockwise all the way to about 8-o'clock -- just shy of the stairs from the other direction. (One time I played the game, she did the opposite -- started by going toward me the long way around, then stopped at around 2-o'clock, and turned around clockwise again. In this case, you still want to go clockwise, but wait until she does as well, and then *follow* her.)
of 9: The male scientist will eventually want to go down the stairs himself, but if you're fast enough, you should be able to head down the stairs first -- and before he sees you. Just be careful to sneak down the stairs so as not to make too much noise.
of 9: Once you're on the lower level of the core, almost straight ahead is the port where you can go into inventory and use your "encapsulated worm" to deploy it.
