Dreamfall: The Longest Journey Hints

How can I reach the White Dragon (as April)?

  • 1 of 15: When April goes does to the tavern to talk to Benrime, Benrime will suggest that you talk to the White Dragon, but she's not sure who can help you get there.
  • 2 of 15: Fortunately, just as your conversation is ending, Brian Westhouse will walk in -- and he has a suggestion for you.
  • 3 of 15: You need to get to the library of the Dark People.
  • 4 of 15: Someone magical might be able to help you figure out how to do that.
  • 5 of 15: Old Town (aka the Ghetto) is now open, and that's probably the best place to start looking.  You can get there by turning to the right as you're leaving the inn -- go down the street that was blocked by a traffic jam in an earlier chapter.
  • 6 of 15: Talk to Roper Klacks.  He's the one selling potions in the Old Town market.
  • 7 of 15: He'll tell you that there's a Shadowship docked at the harbor nearby.  You can get there by going down the path that's more or less opposite Roper's stand (not the closer one that's immediately to its right).
  • 8 of 15: The captain of the Dark People's ship is hard to miss -- he's the one in a dark robe, levitating over the dock.
  • 9 of 15: When you finish talking to him, you'll get the usual dialogue choices, any of which has April trying to convince the Shadowguide to let her onto the ship.
  • 10 of 15: You can try them all, but none of them will work.
  • 11 of 15: There's only one thing the Dark People want -- think back to your conversation.
  • 12 of 15: They collect books, especially rare ones.  (If you didn't learn this yet, you may need to offer to "Pay" to the Shadowguide.)
  • 13 of 15: And someone you've already talked to has the rarest book of all.
  • 14 of 15: Roper Klacks has the only remaining copy in the world of the book he wrote.  Talk to him about "Book" and he'll eventually give it to you.
  • 15 of 15: Then return to the Shadowguide.  You will need to talk to him to make an offer, and *then* go into inventory to actually hand over the book.  (Simply going straight to inventory without talking first may not work.)
