Dreamfall: The Longest Journey Hints
I can't get past him in time. What should I do?
1 of 7: You might be able to buy yourself a few more seconds with a bit of a distraction.
2 of 7: Did you notice a couple of pebbles that were on the ground near where you first entered these caves?
3 of 7: Maybe you could pick them up and throw one at the creature while it's standing near the water, on the far end of its rounds from the white landing.
4 of 7: Here's where focus mode comes in handy. Go into your inventory and select a pebble as if you want to use it. But you probably won't see the gears indicating that you can throw the pebble yet. That's okay. You can still press the button for focus mode and then aim Zoë's focus at the creature. As long as you're reasonably close to the creature, Zoë will be able to throw the pebble, distracting the creature for a while. Just don't get so close to it that you're able to use the pebble without focus mode -- as it will definitely hear you and attack.
5 of 7: Also, if you're using this strategy on the first of the two creatures, throwing the pebble may actually attract the creature, but that's not a critical problem.
6 of 7: In that case, just be careful that you step out of your hiding space behind the big rock only long enough to throw the pebble, and then hide again. The creature will look around but not notice anything, and then seems to stay put for a little while longer. If you don't hide in time, he may attack -- so it may be easier not to try throwing the pebble on the first creature.
7 of 7: The second creature doesn't look behind him, and instead will just focus intently on the water after you throw a pebble in.
