Dark Side of the Moon Hints
A word about sound
The sound in Dark Side of the Moon is critical to the game. In addition to the background sound providing an "ambiance" that enhances the gaming experience, there is a lot of dialogue with other characters in the game. It is important to be able to hear that dialogue clearly.
Most of the game takes place in a mine, or in various passages leading to and from the mine. As such, the sound built into the game already has a degree of "echo" effect added to it. If you are having trouble hearing some of the sounds or conversations, make sure that you have your volume level adjusted properly.
Also, if your computer sound system provides its own "3D effects", such as Surround Sound, it is best to disable those effects (if possible) for the duration of the game. Adding echo effects to sound files that already have built in echo effects can often make the dialogues almost impossible to understand.
To get the most out of the sounds and conversations in DSOM, try playing it with headphones. This will mask out any unwanted noise, and allow you to focus on the audio provided by the game.
