How can I edit my CON files?
One really neat aspect of Duke Nukem 3D is the ability to edit various parts of the game through the three CON files: Game, User, and Defs. The User CON is by far the easiest to edit. You can change music, level names, hit points, weapon strength, and sounds. Most of this file is self-explanatory, though. The Defs file involves sprites, and you really can't do much about it.
The Game CON is tough to edit, but you can change a whole bunch of neat stuff with it. However, it is complicated, and I'm not going to go into any detail about it. However, there are files written about it. Look in the Apogee forum on AOL for DNSPEC12.ZIP, which contains some info about hacking into it.
