The Dukematch Level: Faces of Death
The Faces of Death level is ONLY for Dukematching. As far as I know, there are two ways to reach it in one player (for exploring reasons): either use the command-line parameters, or extract the map from the group file, and use it as a user map. I recommend you do this, to get the feel of the level. Watch out, there are tons of Battlelords in this level.
In any case, here's a quick synopsis: there's an circular room in the middle with a spinning lava wheel (you'll find out what I mean when you see it), and there is a platform full of stuff in the middle. Additionally, there are several transporters all around the level, transporting you to what are known as the "armories" (at least, that's what we call them). You can find weapons in here. Also try diving into the water pools for some more weapons.
Now, for some solid information -- Tripbombs can be extremely useful. There are three good places to set them in this level:
(1) On the wall in the lava wheel, so that the beam passed through the middle platform. Since getting to that pillar can be a bit disorientating, it's easy for an opponent (or you, if you're not careful) to get caught in the beam.
(2) Underwater. Get a weapon, then set a Tripbomb on the wall. Once someone jumps in, *BOOM*.
(3) By the transporters. Try to set them at the right angle, so the beam passed through both transporters (set them low to the ground as well.) That way, when someone transports in, there's no way to stop the blast.
Remember that you have to remember where you set those bombs, otherwise you'll become the victim of your own trap, and that counts as a suicide.
Getting those weapons and items in the middle pillar is very useful, so be sure to get them whenever you have the chance. Just make sure you have enough life to survive the trip across the lava.
That's about it for level-specific strategies. Good luck, as usual!
