Mission #2: Destroy thy Enemy

  • This mission you are given the choice of objectives: either harvest 2800 credits of spice, or destroy the enemy base.  This is the first time you really get into the destruction of things, so get ready!

    If you wish to go for the 2800 credit goal, I recommend building two Refineries and one Spice Silo.  Less than this and you won't be able to hold the spice you need.  Make sure to make some defending units, but not a lot is necessary, because they won't be used for anything but defense.  Within time, the credits you need will be finished, and the level is over.

    However, I believe it's better to destroy the enemy base at this point.  It'll get you into the habit and strategy of killing the bad guys.  You still will want two Refineries to max out spice production.  Make only Quads, as they are the best units you can produce so far (made with a Light Vehicle Factory).  Get a large number of Quads (at least 8, but more is better, if you wish to totally overwhelm the bad guys, which is always good), and simply attack the defending units.  Send in more Quads once the ones that have been destroyed are replaced.  Once the enemies are gone, destroy the Vehicle Factory, as this will bring enemy units to a halt.  Now, divert all fire power to the Construction Yard.  If its destroyed fast enough, you've pretty much won the mission.  Now, destroy everything else. In future missions, it's better to go after the construction yard first, but this second mission is an exception.  Once all enemy units and buildings are terminated, you're onto the next level!
