What on Earth are those purple guys?
Those guys are Sarduakar troopers. See, the plot line behind the game escalates -- the Emperor is now helping the other houses to defeat you. Sarduakar are the Emporer's troops. They are slightly more powerful than Heavy Troopers. Once you reach the last level, you find an entire Sarduakar base, including purple Siege Tanks and Rocket Launchers.
