Echo: Secrets of the Lost Cavern Hints
Can you give me a step-by-step solution?
of 18: This solution assumes that the stones have not yet been moved. If they have, you will need to reset the puzzle. First exit the puzzle, by clicking on the "X" at the bottom right of the screen, then take a step away towards Klem's cave.
of 18: Take the small stone from the left and place it in the center pile (under the tree).
of 18: Now take the top stone from the pile on the right and place it in the left position (there won't be any stones here at this point, the word "position" is used to describe the spot where a pile could be created).
of 18: Take the smallest stone from the center pile and place it on top of the other single stone on the left. You have retained the "smallest always on top" structure in this second pile, while freeing up the active spot in the center position.
of 18: In like manner, you can now take the third stone from the pile on the right, and place it on the (now) empty location in the middle.
of 18: Now return to the pile with two stones (on the left), and take the smallest stone, and put it back on the top of the pile on the right. Note that the only rule is that no stone can be placed on top of a smaller stone; the stones do NOT, however, have to be in consecutive order of size.
of 18: Finally, take the stone (on the left) that was just uncovered -- which would be the second-smallest stone -- and place it on the other single stone in the center (which is the third-smallest from the original pile). Then move the smallest stone (at the top of the right pile) onto this stack of two stones in the center pile. You should now have a stack, three stones tall, in the middle.
of 18: Take a stone from the right stack and move it to the left stack. Take the smallest stone from the center stack and move it to the left stack.
of 18: Take a stone from the center stack and move it to the right. Take the smallest stone from the left stack to the stack on the right.
of 18: Take a stone from the center and move it left. Take the smallest stone from the right stack and move it to the center.
of 18: Take a stone from the right stack and move it to the left. Take smallest one from the center and move it left. You should now have a stack, four stones tall, in the left stack.
of 18: Take the largest stone from the right and move it to the center. Take the smallest stone from the left and move it to the right.
of 18: Take the next stone from the left and place it in the center. Move a stone from the pile on the right to the center.
of 18: Move a stone from the left pile to the right pile. Move one stone from the center to the left.
of 18: Take a stone from the middle and move it to the right. Take a stone from the left and move it to the right pile.
of 18: Take a stone from the left and move it to the center. Take stone from the right and move it to the center.
of 18: Move one stone from the right to the left pile. Move a stone from the right pile to the center pile.
of 18: Move a stone from the left pile to the right pile. Move a stone from the left stack to the center stack. Move the final stone from the right stack to the center stack. The stack under the tree should now be complete.
