Echo: Secrets of the Lost Cavern Hints
I've fiddled with it, and can't get it to work. What's the solution?
1 of 20: For the details of solving this puzzle to work, the puzzle must be in the "starting position." Unfortunately, for this puzzle, there does not appear to be any way to "reset" this puzzle to the starting position. If you need to continue with a step-by-step solution, and you've already moved some of the sticks, you may need to load a saved game in order to go back to an "untouched" puzzle.
2 of 20: For the purpose of describing this puzzle, all the vertical sticks shall be numbered from 1 through 13 (left to right). Each horizontal stick will be described by a description of the vertical sticks it is currently resting on and, should there be more than one stick in that position, then also the height of the stick (as compared to the other sticks). The four markings on the stone archway are labeled (from left to right): A, B, C, and D.
3 of 20: To start the puzzle, click on the vertical stick 12 (numbered left to right) to select it, then click on marking B to rotate it.
4 of 20: Click on the horizontal stick resting between sticks 9 and 11 (to select it), then click on marking B (to rotate it), then click on marking D (to slide it to the right).
5 of 20: Click on stick 11, then marking B, and marking B again.
6 of 20: Click on the horizontal stick resting between sticks 9 and 10, then click on marking D.
7 of 20: Click on the horizontal stick resting between sticks 8 and 10, then click on marking B, then D.
8 of 20: Click on the vertical stick 1, then marking C.
9 of 20: Click on the horizontal stick resting between sticks 2 and 3, then click on marking B, then A.
10 of 20: Click on the horizontal stick resting across the top of sticks 6 and 8, then click on marking C, then A.
11 of 20: Click on stick 3, then marking C.
12 of 20: There are three sticks resting between sticks 5 and 6. Notice that there are two sticks near the middle of sticks 5 and 6, one in the front of the sticks, and one behind them. Click on the one in front. Click on B, then A.
13 of 20: Click on the stick resting between 4 and 5, then B, then D.
14 of 20: Click on stick 4, then C.
15 of 20: Remember the sticks resting between sticks 5 and 6 -- where there were two sticks together (one in front of the vertical sticks and one behind them)? Select the one (it hasn't been moved yet) that is behind sticks 5 and 6. Click on C, then A.
16 of 20: Click on stick 7, then C.
17 of 20: Click on stick 8, then C.
18 of 20: Click on the horizontal stick resting between stick 5 and 6 (not the one at the very bottom, but the one higher a little higher than that). Click on D.
19 of 20: Click on stick 9, then B.
20 of 20: Click on the stick resting between stick 5 and 6, at the bottom. Click on C, then D. This should solve the puzzle.
