Echo: Secrets of the Lost Cavern Hints
What is the solution to the handprints?
of 15: There is more than one possibility. This solution only describes one. Because there is no way to reset this puzzle, the solution is given in such a way that it can be solved regardless of the position of the handprints.
of 15: For the sake of making the position of the handprints and starbursts easier to describe, they will each be assigned a number or a letter. The starbursts along the bottom will be numbered (left to right) from 1 to 5. Each column in line with these starbursts will be assigned the same number. For the starbursts along the right side, they will be each assigned letters from A to H (starting at the bottom row and working up to the top). Each row in line with these starbursts will be assigned the same letter.
of 15: Start by selecting the 3A handprint -- from row A (the bottom row), and from column 3 (the center one) -- by clicking on it.
of 15: Use starburst A (the one to the right of the handprints, at the bottom) to rotate the handprints until the handprint 3A lights up.
of 15: Use starburst B (found to the right of the handprints, second one from the bottom) to rotate the handprints until the handprint just above, and to the left of the bottom one -- 2B -- lights up.
of 15: Next, use starburst C to rotate the prints until handprint 3C lights up.
of 15: Do the same with starburst D until the handprint 3D lights up.
of 15: Use starburst E to rotate the prints until handprint 3E lights up.
of 15: The next handprint to rotate will be 2E. However, if you rotate this one with starburst E (on the right), you will also rotate 3E out of position.
of 15: The starburst to use is number 2 (on the bottom). When you rotate this one, one of the other hands will move out of alignment, causing some of the lights to go out. This isn't a problem, except that 2E won't light up when you rotate it, so you will need to carefully watch handprint 2E to see when the fingers of this hand are pointing up.
of 15: Once you have 2E pointing up, go back to starburst B and rotate row B until the handprints light up again.
of 15: Next, use starburst F to rotate the prints until 2F lights up.
of 15: Use starburst G until the fingers of 2G are pointing up (it may or may not light, depending on the positions of other handprints).
