What's the step-by-step solution?
1 of 12: There is more than one solution to this puzzle, as the squares can be rotated endlessly, and even completed progress can be "undone". This solution may not be the shortest, but it will allow you to finish the puzzle.
2 of 12: Keep in mind that this solution assumes that the pieces in the puzzle have not yet been rotated. If they have, you will need to leave the puzzle and step down, away from the puzzle to reset it. Resetting the puzzle will reposition all pieces to their original location, as well as with the original side/color showing. This solution assumes that you already have the pieces flipped to the correct side.
3 of 12: For the purpose of describing the solution, each of the red dots between the puzzle pieces will be labeled from 1 through 8. Starting at the top row label the dots 1 thru 4 (from left to right). For the bottom row, label the dots 5 thru 8.
4 of 12: Begin the puzzle by looking for pieces that belong on the right side of the puzzle. Notice the two blank pieces?
5 of 12: The blank pieces would be correctly placed on the bottom right of the puzzle. In order to keep these from being moved away and separated, rotate them out of the way.
6 of 12: To do this, click on dot 8 three times. The blank pieces will then be at the bottom.
7 of 12: Next, look for and bring in the pieces that belong at the top right of the puzzle.
8 of 12: Click on 3, then 4.
9 of 12: Now, move the blank pieces into place. Click on 8 three times. In two more moves, you can complete the six pieces on the right (the two right-most columns). Look for pieces of the picture that match the outline and that can easily be moved toward the right.
10 of 12: Click on dot 6, then 7. The two right-most columns should now be complete. See if you can find other pieces to move into position, using similar logic, to work your way across the puzzle from right to left, until all the pieces are in place.
11 of 12: The following hint contains the remainder of the solution. It is important to click on the dots exactly as indicated -- no more or less -- and in the same order. (If a number is repeated, that means to click on it more than once -- such as the first two "6"s, which mean to click dot 6 TWICE.) When all pieces are in their correct position, the painting will animate.
12 of 12: To finish the remainder of the puzzle, click on the pieces in the following order: 6, 6, 5, 6, 6, 1, 2, 6, 6, 6, 5, 1, 5, 5, 5, 1, 5, 1.
