Echo: Secrets of the Lost Cavern Hints
The documentary database
Throughout the game, you will have access to an encyclopedia of sorts, referred to by the game as a documentary database. The database can be used to provide additional information about some of the objects that are being accumulated in inventory, as well as give a historical perspective to the environment in which you are playing. Sometimes, this information can be quite useful in determining which objects might provide a solution to which puzzles, or which items may be combined to form other items.
When there are specific database entries that could prove useful at a particular time, you will see an icon temporarily appear in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. This icon will look like a shell, and will indicate that if you go to the database now, you may find an article of interest that pertains to your present situation.
