How do I open the first passage?

  • 1 of 20: Ptah said that one of the metalworkers has a die to make a new key.
  • 2 of 20: Who is the only worker you've been able to contact up to this point?
  • 3 of 20: Go back and talk to the dwarf (turn the canopic jar to the right).
  • 4 of 20: He will give Maya an empty mold.
  • 5 of 20: The mold can be used to make a new key, of sorts.
  • 6 of 20: Now, what material can we use to cast a new key?
  • 7 of 20: It seems that we've run out of bronze strips, or other metal bits.
  • 8 of 20: What else is there that is soft enough when it is hot, but could be cast in a mold such as this?
  • 9 of 20: Perhaps something that is already hot and liquid?
  • 10 of 20: How about the lava itself?
  • 11 of 20: Go back to where you heated up the bronze strip initially, and dip the empty mold in the lava.
  • 12 of 20: Now the lava will need to cool.  Can you think of a good place where it can cool?
  • 13 of 20: Empty the mold onto the anvil-shaped rock.
  • 14 of 20: After it cools (the color will change from red to brown), take it back into inventory.
  • 15 of 20: Go back to the statue of Sakhmet.
  • 16 of 20: The key of Sakhmet is broken and a piece is missing.
  • 17 of 20: Use the newly-created key on the broken key in the hand of the Sakhmet.  (Oh-oh!  Sounds like something moved again!!)
  • 18 of 20: But the first passage is not yet opened.  There is one more task to accomplish in this room first.
  • 19 of 20: Notice the golden staff in the alcove along the wall?  To see the correct alcove, stand with your back to the statue of Sakhmet, and pivot slowly to the right.
  • 20 of 20: Click on the staff, and it will lower.  You can now leave the room.
