The Egyptian Prophecy: The Fate of Ramses Hints
How do I pass the second test of Isis?
of 15: You'll need to receive some instructions from Isis. Be sure to listen carefully.
of 15: There are two animals, representing the gods Horus and Set. (Horus is the bird, Set is the turtle.) You need to move both of them, so that they meet at the center islet.
of 15: There are five islets (islands). Explore what happens when you approach any of the islands where one or the other of the two animals is hovering. Horus, the bird, can be found hovering over one of the islands. Set, the turtle, is a bit more difficult to see -- he looks rather like a round black rock sticking out of the water.
of 15: When moving around, you'll need to double-check that you are about to step out onto the correct island. Sometimes the perspective of the animals makes it appear that they are at a different island than they actually are. You should go to one of your target islands, and look straight out, to see if the animal (either the bird or the turtle) is where you think it is.
of 15: You should notice that whenever you arrive at an island where either animal is hovering, it will move to a new location.
of 15: See if you can determine a pattern that will allow you to control where each animal will go.
of 15: Where does the turtle have to be, so that its next move will take it to the middle island? Likewise, where does the bird have to be, so that its next move will take it to the middle island?
of 15: The turtle only moves to the middle island after it has been at the rightmost island (the fifth island, counting from the left).
of 15: The bird moves to the middle island after it has been at the leftmost island.
of 15: It appears, then, that before you can get either to the middle island, you will need to position the bird over the first island, and the turtle in the water by the fifth island.
of 15: The movements of the animals are consistent. They move in a fixed pattern.
of 15: The bird begins at the first island. So it is trivial to move it to the middle island. Once it's reached the center island, leave it there to await the arrival of the turtle.
of 15: The turtle begins at the fourth island; and from there will move to the second one.
of 15: From the second island, the turtle will move to the fifth.
of 15: It doesn't matter which animal reaches the center island first. Once each animal is at the middle island, you can walk across to the other side on the back of the turtle.
