The Egyptian Prophecy: The Fate of Ramses Hints
How do I pass the second guardian?
of 14: After you are told the goal of this puzzle, pay attention to the area at your left. You will see another labyrinth, with someone (or something) standing at the beginning of it.
of 14: You can click on the question mark in the lower right corner for details on how to continue with this puzzle.
of 14: You must cross the labyrinth yourself, while at the same time allowing your "alter ego" (Ka) to do the same. It will follow whatever moves you make. If either of you falls off, you fail the test.
of 14: The two labyrinths are not identical. In fact, they are mirror images of each other.
of 14: Each labyrinth is four tiles wide. However, Maya and her Ka do not start at the same position.
of 14: The moves that you must make will be different than the moves your Ka must make.
of 14: You'll need to plan wisely, and make use of the various walls, to prevent either of you from falling off.
of 14: Neither you nor your Ka can pass through a wall -- even if the other is moving in that direction.
of 14: You can move Maya onto a space that is open, even if the Ka cannot move in that direction. If the way is blocked for the Ka, it will simply stay where it is.
of 14: You can also attempt to move Maya into a wall. She will not move, but the Ka will follow your command to move in the direction you indicated. This will allow you to move the Ka without moving Maya.
of 14: Use the differences in the two mazes to control your Ka, as you navigate through your side of the maze.
of 14: Be sure to check the position of your Ka after every move that Maya makes.
of 14: Study the two labyrinths before moving onto them, to see which way Maya must go to exit her side of the labyrinth. (It may even be helpful to draw out the two labyrinths onto paper and solve it away from the computer, as that allows you to see both of the labyrinths at the same time.)
of 14: As you study the labyrinths, check (before moving) to see how Maya's moves would affect her Ka.
