The Egyptian Prophecy: The Fate of Ramses Hints
What sorts of strategies can I try to solve the puzzle?
1 of 6: Click on the question mark in the top right corner of the screen for a couple of strategy tips.
2 of 6: Experiment a bit with the key, and the discs. Try moving the key into the first disc (which, from the initial start position, you can do without rotating the key), and then try rotating the disc. See if you can get the key further into the "stack".
3 of 6: You may find that you will not be able to continually advance the key. You may need to move it ahead, so that a "blank" spot on the key can move into place inside an earlier disc, allowing it to move, when it couldn't before. However, after that movement, you may need to "retreat" a bit, moving the key forward and backward, while working on individual discs as you go.
4 of 6: To best way to solve the puzzle, is to work the key all the way back to the gold (last) disc, and get it into its proper position, then work backwards. In this manner, changes to the discs to the right of the gold disc will not affect the position of the gold disc.
5 of 6: Continue in this manner, aligning the gold disc, then the silver disc, and so on -- working your way back to the starting position.
6 of 6: Since this puzzle involves strategy, a good suggestion is to be looking ahead (and behind) more than just one disc. As in any strategy puzzle (or game), looking only one move ahead will make it much more difficult to reach your goal.
