The Confrontation with Vivern

  • 1 of 22: If Quickthorpe tries to move anywhere inside her observatory, she zaps him -- but he recovers immediately.
  • 2 of 22: The only thing you can do is talk to her.
  • 3 of 22: If you choose some of the dialog paths, she ~really~ kills you (and you have to return to a previous Save).
  • 4 of 22: Choose "I'm a man who walks tall and carries a big stick".
  • 5 of 22: She fills in more of the Mecubarz-Balkhanian history.  She implies that the chief conspirator, an old man, is called Ismael and is hiding out, whereabouts unknown.
  • 6 of 22: She's so fed up with everything, she begs Quickthorpe to end her torture.
  • 7 of 22: Oblige her.
  • 8 of 22: She recommends using Quickthorpe's big stick.
  • 9 of 22: You haven't actually got a big stick, so use something similar.
  • 10 of 22: You need something sharp.
  • 11 of 22: Something the sector guard abandoned in his haste.
  • 12 of 22: Use the weapon Khor used to guard the entrance.
  • 13 of 22: Khor's spear doesn't work on her.
  • 14 of 22: Use it on the glass platform supporting her.  Goodbye Vivern!
  • 15 of 22: Look at and Examine the blue sapphire.  Take it: "Ho hum, three down and one to go"!
  • 16 of 22: If you wish, you can place the emerald, the diamond and the sapphire into the Mecubarz Key; or you can leave this till later.
  • 17 of 22: Have a good look around.  There are things that you can do and that you can't do.
  • 18 of 22: Look at and Examine the control switch.
  • 19 of 22: It's in the 'up' position.
  • 20 of 22: Switch it to the 'down' position.
  • 21 of 22: You can toggle it between these two positions, but nothing noticeable appears to happen.
  • 22 of 22: Return to the entrance using the reverse procedure by which you entered Vivern's lair.
