Fable Hints

How do I get past the Well-Dressed Gentleman?

  • 1 of 8: Talk to him.  He's a sort of polite thief.
  • 2 of 8: He won't let you pass this point to farther locations until you Give him something valuable.
  • 3 of 8: Try Giving him whatever you've got in your inventory.
  • 4 of 8: He'll let you proceed only after you Give him the precious gold statuette.
  • 5 of 8: There must be one around somewhere.
  • 6 of 8: There was one in Welda's cellar.
  • 7 of 8: Now you can move around quite a lot.
  • 8 of 8: It's worth while spending a few minutes exploring the terrain.  The path to the left leads you back to the Village of Balkhane and/or the Frozen Lake. The path to the right and the middle path (towards the snowy peak) put you onto a sort of loop road.  By choosing one or the other of these two, you can access most, if not quite all, the other locations on the Top-View Map. Since it is a loop, you can go either clockwise or anti-clockwise, whichever suits your needs best.
