Fable: The Lost Chapters Hints
White Balverine
1 of 18: This quest is on the guild map table after you finish the previous one about finding the archaeologist.
2 of 18: To get to Knothole Glade, first teleport back to the Witchwood Cullis Gate and then return to Witchwood Stones.
3 of 18: As you're moving north through the Witchwood Stones area, some guy will approach you with a made-up story.
4 of 18: If your alignment is good, he'll say his wife is in danger and you'll be ambushed by bandits. If you're evil, he'll say he wants your help in attacking a rich trader, and you'll be ambushed by guards.
5 of 18: Either way, find him further down the path and talk to him after the ambush is over to get a resurrection phial.
6 of 18: Then go on to the Temple of Avo area, and then into the new area of Witchwood Lake.
7 of 18: There are several treasures to be gotten in the Witchwood Lake area, including a flame augmentation from a treasure chest near the lake, plus a nice Will Master's Elixir in the lake.
8 of 18: The quest begins when you enter Knothole Glade from the lake area. After running forward a bit, you'll come across the village's locked gate.
9 of 18: There'll be at least one regular balverine out there to start with, so snipe it good with your bow or your best attack spell.
10 of 18: More balverines will show up after you kill the first one, though they'll probably run toward the villagers who were unfortunate enough to be stuck on this side of the gate when it closed. Easy victories!
11 of 18: When the last one dies, you'll get inside and meet Knothole Glade's chief in a cut-scene, after which the dreaded white balverine will show up and start in on you.
12 of 18: You can't damage it yet, but you do need to hit it ten times so it'll run off for now.
13 of 18: The best way is to cast Slow Time and quickly hack it with your melee weapon, but Physical Shield works well to protect you if you don't have Slow Time.
14 of 18: When the white balverine retreats, wait for the chief to talk to you, then explore around and loot a bit until the white balverine shows up again.
15 of 18: Whack it ten more times, and then you'll get the cut-scene where the hunter's wife comes up and gives you a silver augmentation that you can add onto a weapon in order to hurt the white balverine with it. (Or you can use a legendary weapon that comes with a silver augmentation, like The Sentinus.)
16 of 18: Hit the white balverine five or more times when it shows up, then chase it into the Witchwood Lake area to finish it off.
17 of 18: It'll summon lots of regular balverines to help it out, so Physical Shield and Slow Time are essential spells here. With both of them going, it should be quick and easy work to focus on the white balverine and kill it, then mop up its remaining supporters.
18 of 18: When they're all dead, return to Knothole Glade and report to the chief to get a letter and book that Theresa left for you and to finish the quest.
