Break the Siege

  • 1 of 8: This quest appears on the guild map table after you finish the Gold Quest "The Arena."
  • 2 of 8: When you teleport to Knothole Glade, the bandits who are laying siege to the place explain that the Gladesmen are holding their leader hostage.
  • 3 of 8: The Glade chief says they're not letting the bandit leader go, so you'll have to tell them that.
  • 4 of 8: Actually, what you have to do is talk to the guard near the town gates and tell him to open them when you're ready to start killing bandits.
  • 5 of 8: They'll start charging into the town as soon as the gates are open, and you don't want any of them reaching the bandit leader, who's being held near the SW corner of the area.
  • 6 of 8: Stay in the gate area and do your best to keep any bandits from getting past you. Powerful area-of-effect magic spells like Fireball and Enflame are great here, as is the Slow Time spell (especially for melee fighters, who will have to do a lot of running around).
  • 7 of 8: NOTE: If a bandit does reach the bandit leader, the leader will start registering as a hostile, but won't attack anyone. He'll just walk slowly north and out the town gates. Be sure to kill the rest of the invading bandits as quickly as you can if this happens.
  • 8 of 8: If you manage to finish off the invading bandit force without the bandit leader getting away, you'll succeed in the quest.
