How can I shut the speakers off?
1 of 4: You can do that from one of the terminals in the room you just came through.
2 of 4: Look for the Maintenance Network Terminal on a table near a corner.
3 of 4: Hack it (Science 25+ required), then choose its "disable hallway loudspeakers" option.
4 of 4: TIP: You can also download the workbench recipe for super-heated cosmic knives from that terminal. All of the ingredients for making them are in the terminal's room -- except for a cosmic knife, which you can find in the gassy kitchen area a bit later.
