Fallout: New Vegas Game Add-Ons (DLC) Hints

Find something to break the encryption on the blast door terminal.

  • 1 of 7: Look a short way SE of the reactor door to find the large Silo Blast Door Controls terminal.
  • 2 of 7: It's encrypted beyond your ability to hack even if your Science skill is 100, so look for something to help you break the encryption.
  • 3 of 7: Look across the room from the reactor door to find a utility door.
  • 4 of 7: Use the terminal to the right of it to unlock it, then go through it and another door to reach the utility room.
  • 5 of 7: Check the shelves against the north wall for an arc welder and a breathing mask, then go up the stairs to the south to get onto a small platform.
  • 6 of 7: Use the Maintenance Bot Control terminal to unlock the prototype bot pod, then wait until the pod opens and a prototype ED-E talks to you.
  • 7 of 7: After he joins you as a follower, you'll get the "Use ED-E to break the encryption on the blast door terminal" objective. (NOTE: You can talk to ED-E at any time and use him as a portable workbench or reloading bench.)
