Fallout: New Vegas Game Add-Ons (DLC) Hints

When should I do this add-on's quests?

  • 1 of 5: This isn't a very difficult add-on for low-level characters, so you could start on it at any time. However, if you're right at the beginning of the game, you'll probably want to build up your character and equipment a bit first.
  • 2 of 5: I recommend putting off this add-on until you're at least level 8 with a silenced sniper rifle, some decent armor, plenty of ammo, several mines, and a stealth boy or two. None of that is really essential, but it can all come in very handy.
  • 3 of 5: Another handy thing would be to get your Lockpick and Science skills both up to at least 50.
  • 4 of 5: Also, if you're wanting to get lots of easy karma gains, take along all the healing powder that you can find and make. There's a point during the main quests where you can donate healing powder to Daniel to get karma.
  • 5 of 5: WARNING: If you wait to do this module until you're very high-level, the hostile tribals will have much more advanced weapons (including 12.7mm submachine guns and anti-materiel rifles), and there will be extra-powerful giant versions of some creatures, including yao guai, cazadors, and green lizards. Their ability to frequently appear out of nowhere and move extremely fast makes them deadly to even the toughest characters. Be sure to take along some *serious* heavy weapons, such as the unique missile launcher and minigun, plus some solid armor and lots of chems.
