Biological Research Station
1 of 5: The biological research station can do two plant-related things for you.
2 of 5: One is to turn all of the ingestible plants (maize, broc flower, xander root, etc.) you have in inventory into salient green.
3 of 5: If your Survival skill is 25+, you can use any campfire or hot plate to turn salient green into any of the eleven ingestible plant types. It's also one of the ingredients of battle brew. (See the New Crafting Recipes list.)
4 of 5: The other thing that the biological research station can do is take dried versions of the eleven ingestible plant types and grow some plants out of them in the nearby dirt containers.
5 of 5: See the "Field Research" optional quest's second objective to find out where all the dried plants are. (Note that you don't have to get the quest before you can find the seed packages.)
