Hunting the Legendary Fire Gecko

  • 1 of 6: The unique fire gecko called "legendary fire gecko" is in the Fire Root Cavern (location 41 on the Zone 4 Map). Be sure to bring along your best guns and ammo. A few mines would also be handy.
  • 2 of 6: Watch for a few fire geckos outside the cave, then enter it and move along the passage to come to a huge cave room.
  • 3 of 6: You'll be on an upper ledge, so stay there while shooting down at all the fire geckos on the main cave floor. Watch out for them getting close and breathing fire up at you.
  • 4 of 6: After quicksaving, continue along the upper ledge to meet up with the legendary fire gecko and two of his fire gecko buddies.
  • 5 of 6: If a straightforward fight with them is too tough, quickrestore and lay two or three small mine clusters along the upper ledge. Go to where you can snipe at one of the geckos, then stand up and run across your mine clusters, careful not to fall down to the main cave floor.
  • 6 of 6: NOTE: If you brought some followers with you, they'll probably drop down to the main cave floor when you start sniping at the geckos that are down there. This will force them to run right by the legendary fire gecko to get back to you, which will probably get it to go after them. Take advantage of this by staying where you are and sniping at it as it runs along the upper ledge after your followers.
