Fallout: New Vegas Hints

Merchant List

  • NOTES: Special conditions for getting someone to sell to you once you find them are listed in {curly braces}. If a merchant doesn't sell every type of item, the item categories that he does sell will be listed in [square brackets]. The abbreviations used are: W=Weapons, A=Armor, L=Alcohol, F=Food, C=Chems, S=Stimpaks, B=Books, M=Miscellaneous. There will be a double *star* right after the name of a merchant if it's possible to pickpocket back the items that you sell him. A triple dollar sign after a merchant's name means he'll always sell you items at their base value without a mark-up, and if your Barter skill is 24+, he'll also pay you full value for items you sell him without a mark-down.

Most merchants will get new inventories at midnight on every Sunday and Wednesday, so keep checking back for stuff that you want. If something you know a merchant can have is random, you could quicksave next to that merchant after 11 pm on a Saturday or a Tuesday, then wait an hour and check his inventory. If he doesn't have what you want, quickrestore and try again. (If you experience the glitch where loading a save resets everything except the day of the week, quicksave next to a merchant on a Sunday or Wednesday, exit to the main menu, and then load the quicksave. Repeat as often as necessary to get what you want.)
