Fallout: New Vegas Hints
Stealth Boy List
They've really stiffed us stealth fanatics this time! Not only is the Chinese Stealth Armor sabotaged and worthless, but there aren't even very many stealth boys to be found. Add to that the new "wandering scope" problem with using scoped weapons like sniper rifles for long-range shooting, and the situation becomes nearly intolerable. Finding all the stealth boys you can and carefully rationing them is an essential strategy for all stealth specialists.
Listed below are the only 10 non-random stealth boys in the game. Fortunately, you can get them randomly from some containers such as safes and ammo boxes (10% chance) and dead nightkin (25% chance). If you know an area has such a container, quicksave before entering it for the first time, then keep going in and checking the container until you get a stealth boy. That can be very tedious, but stealth specialists will need to do that a lot.
* Goodsprings (Zone 3/1): in safe near SW corner in Goodsprings Schoolhouse
* Goodsprings (Zone 3/1): in Joe Cobb's inventory (he won't appear until the end of the "By a Campfire on the Trail" Goodsprings faction quest)
* Lucky 38 Casino (Zone 1/New Vegas Strip interior): in floor safe behind counter in cocktail lounge (only accessible after you talk to Mr. House)
* Jack Rabbit Springs (Zone 3/28): next to skeleton and ammo boxes on hill in center of area
* REPCONN Test Site (Zone 4/14): on table in small dining area near SW corner of northern section of basement
* REPCONN Test Site (Zone 4/14): in REPCONN Facility area, on floor next to dead nightkin near southern doors & in wall safe in administrator's office on top floor (2) & in safe in locked room near center of middle floor (2)
NOTE: If you ever get the key to the Caesar's Legion Safehouse (see the general question about getting a house of your own), you can ask the Legion guy who's occasionally in the safehouse for stealth boys to get two each time he visits. (He usually shows up on Tuesdays and Fridays.)
