What things can I try to prevent the glitch from happening?

  • 1 of 4: After loading a save from before you talk to Dusty about losing livestock, try one or more of the following things.
  • 2 of 4: Exit the game and re-run it, then talk to Dusty and wait for the nightkin to show up. This may cause it to behave normally and attack the brahmin.
  • 3 of 4: If not, try attacking the nightkin while one or two followers are with you. After it turns hostile, stay back and let your followers kill it, then loot it and go see if Dusty will reward you.
  • 4 of 4: If all else fails, finish up Novac quests like "One For My Baby" and "Come Fly With Me," then try this one again.
