Fallout: New Vegas Hints
Fast Travel Note
1 of 6: If you want to make Black Mountain safe to fast-travel to, you'll need to kill some super mutants down the road north of the compound, and sniping them with a sniper rifle is the best way.
2 of 6: The nearest one is standing guard on the west side of the fallen satellite dish. While staying as far south as you can, move along the road to where you can snipe him in the head.
3 of 6: Immediately sneak a ways south along the road to avoid detection, since your sniping of that super mutant probably stirred up a couple more a bit farther north.
4 of 6: When your stealth indicator reads "[HIDDEN]" again, sneak down toward the mutant you sniped, using your compass and sniper scope to help you spot the next two mutants.
5 of 6: After they're dead, it should be safe. Quicksave and then try fast-traveling to Black Mountain just to be sure.
6 of 6: WARNING: The three super mutants near the fast-travel point will respawn eventually, as will some (but not all) of the nightkin in the compound.
