Fat Man List
In this game, fat man weapons are classified as Explosives, so your level in that skill will determine their exact DAM and DPS values. (Though even an Explosives skill of 100 won't make them anywhere near as powerful as they were in Fallout 3.) All the known sources for them are listed below.
* Red Rock Canyon (Zone 1/15): randomly sold by the Great Khan Armorer after your Great Khans rep is "accepted" or better
* Nopah Cave (Zone 1/18): on a dead super mutant master near the SW corner of the cave (his inventory occasionally respawns)
* Dead super mutant (Zone 1/u): on a dead super mutant master in a side area with cazadors in a long valley (his inventory occasionally respawns)
* Nellis Hangars (Zone 2/2): randomly sold by the Boomer Munitions Manager in the NE hangar after your Boomer rep is "accepted" or better
* Nellis Air Force Base (Zone 2/3): used by one of the Boomers in the farm area a ways NE of the map marker (he occasionally respawns)
* Crimson Caravan Company (Zone 2/7): sold by Blake if you're level 21+
* Quarry Junction (Zone 3/4): next to a skeleton on the east side of the southern radioactive pool (see the Zone 3 undocumented quest "The Assault on Quarry Junction")
* Hidden Valley (Zone 3/10): sold by Knight Torres on the west side of the Hidden Valley Bunker L1 area after you finish the first four objectives of the "Still in the Dark" Brotherhood of Steel faction quest
* Cottonwood Crater (Zone 4/45): on a dead prospector floating in the water just NE of the southern entrance to the Fire Root Cavern
Fat man weapons use mini nukes for ammo, so I'll list sources for them, too. There doesn't appear to be any way to randomly get mini nukes from merchant inventories or containers, though the fat-man-carrying Boomer respawns every now and then. Keep sneakily killing him for more mini nukes.
* Nellis Array (Zone 2/1): on the shelves in the NE corner in the Nellis Array Generators building, which is only accessible after starting on the "Ant Misbehavin'" Boomers faction quest (2)
* Nellis Hangars (Zone 2/2): in a small wooden crate on the top shelf of the Boomer munitions store in the northern hangar
* Nellis Air Force Base (Zone 2/3): in the inventory of the fat-man-carrying Boomer in the farm area a ways NE of the map marker (3) (he occasionally respawns)
* Vault 11 (Zone 2/37): on the table in the locked storage room near the SW corner of the Vault 11 Living Quarters area
* Quarry Junction (Zone 3/4): underwater very close to Quarry Junction fat man & in deathclaw nest a ways NW of that (directly west of map marker)
* Hidden Valley (Zone 3/10): in the ammo stash that's on the right side of the rubble past the locked door in the southern-most bunker & on some rubble to the right past the locked door in the northern-most bunker (2)
* Camp Searchlight (Zone 4/35): on a table in the eastern church's basement if you don't have the Wild Wasteland trait (2)
