Does it matter exactly what I say to Raul?
1 of 5: Yes, it does. There are two different perks that he can get at the end of the quest, and you'll be able to decide which one he gets.
2 of 5: One of the perks will apply to Raul himself. It'll let him fire revolvers and lever-action firearms 33% faster. The other perk is one that you'll get when Raul is with you. The Regular Maintenance perk (your weapons and armor degrade 50% slower) will be replaced with the Full Maintenance perk (your weapons and armor degrade 75% slower).
3 of 5: When you get to choose, one of the choices will require you to pass a Speech 66 check, and the other one won't. Which one has the Speech check on it depends on what you've said to Raul after talking to each of the three older guys.
4 of 5: The choices that matter are the ones where you have a list of three (or sometimes four) options as to what to say about the old guy you just finished talking to.
5 of 5: Choose the first choice on those lists every time if you want to be sure there isn't a Speech check on the option to get Raul to fire guns 33% faster. Choose the third choice every time if you want to be sure that the option to get the Full Maintenance perk doesn't have a Speech check on it.
