Fallout: New Vegas Hints
Talk to Carlyle St. Clair at his residence north of the Strip.
1 of 5: Carlyle St. Clair's house is at secondary location r on the Zone 2 Map.
2 of 5: Look for Carlyle either in or next to his house and talk to him.
3 of 5: There are a bunch of options for knocking him unconscious in dialogue. However, not all of them are good. The Guns 45 skill check will cause the quest to fail if you choose it.
4 of 5: The others all work, though. The Speech 45 check is the best one since it sends Carlyle to Mortimer instead of knocking him out and making you drag him to the dumpster.
5 of 5: If you can't do any of those options, exit conversation and get out the cattle prod that Mortimer gave you. Attack Carlyle with it until he's rendered unconscious. (If the objective doesn't update, hit him with the prod some more until it does.)
