Hire a guard named Orris near the northern gate of Freeside.
1 of 3: Leave the King's school building and go through the blue metal door that's NE of it.
2 of 3: Continue NE along the street until you come to Freeside's north gate. Don't go through the gate, but look to the left of it to find Orris.
3 of 3: Talk to Orris and agree to hire him for 200 caps.
