How can I get to the eggs without using the elevator?

  • 1 of 9: Go down the stairs near the elevator to reach the Oxygen Recycling level, then go down more stairs to get to the Food Production level and then the Common Areas level.
  • 2 of 9: Go east through a door to reach the upper walkway in a large room, then cross to its other side and turn left to find a door that leads to some stairs.
  • 3 of 9: On the lower floor, kill any nearby spore carriers, then look on the north side of the room for a door labeled "QUARTERS." It's locked, and you'll have to have a Lockpick skill of 50 or higher to pick it open.
  • 4 of 9: Past it, open the first door on the left and kill the spore carriers in the room. Look on the shelves to find the Vault 22 Cave Door Keycard.
  • 5 of 9: Retrace your steps to the upper walkway, then go back to the Food Production level.
  • 6 of 9: Go up the stairs and turn right, then go to the end of the hallway and look for a door just to the right of you.
  • 7 of 9: Go through that door and cross the room, then use the terminal to unlock the door to the cave tunnels.
  • 8 of 9: Kill the giant mantises near the start of the tunnels, then turn left at the first tunnel intersection and right at the next one.
  • 9 of 9: Kill all the mantises, then check near the end of the tunnel to find the egg pile that you can take some mantis eggs from.
