Fallout: New Vegas Hints
How can I win the battle with the paladins?
1 of 7: The first thing you should do is quicksave right before you go outside.
2 of 7: When the paladins attack, turn around and go back into the bunker. They may or may not follow you back inside. If they don't, go back outside to find that they're non-hostile to you now.
3 of 7: If they do follow you in, try restoring the autosave that was made when you went back in. They may not follow you in then, or maybe only some of them will follow you in.
4 of 7: If you go back outside quickly enough, you may get some of them to turn non-hostile, and you can dodge around while Veronica pounds on the ones that are still hostile. (Or if you got the pulse gun, you can use it on the hostile ones.)
5 of 7: If that doesn't work for you, quickrestore and set up several small clusters of mines inside the bunker to lead the paladins across when they follow you inside. Or skip the mines and lead them into level 1 or level 2 of the bunker to get the other Brotherhood guys to help you fight them.
6 of 7: Another strategy is to bring up the Pip-Boy the instant you appear outside. You should be able to do that fast enough that the paladins won't have a chance to talk to you.
7 of 7: Fast-travel to Hidden Valley to end up a ways outside of their talk-to-you range, then set up several mine clusters nearby. Once that's done, go talk to them to turn them hostile, then lead them across your mines. (You might want to combine this trick with the go-back-inside trick for maximum effectiveness.)
