2 of 4: Tell Alice that you're here to help her, then ask if she has the money.
3 of 4: Say "okay, go ahead," then say that you should've known she didn't have what it takes.
4 of 4: After she kills Mrs. Hostetler and talks to you, you'll get some bad karma. On the bright side, you can loot Mrs. Hostetler's body for 1000 caps and other goodies.
