1 of 2: If you paid Canyon Runner, you can tell Mrs. Weathers that she's free to go. She and the two kids will then be able to escape without anyone turning hostile.
2 of 2: If you stole Canyon Runner's key or sneakily picked the lock on the gate, freeing the Weathers will cause the Legion to kill them and attack you.
