Checking on Charlie

  • 1 of 9: In Novac (location 15 on the Zone 4 Map), find Ranger Andy in his bungalow.
  • 2 of 9: Ask him about being with the NCR, then volunteer to check on his friends at Ranger Station Charlie.
  • 3 of 9: Ranger Station Charlie (aka "The Trailer Park Trash Station") is a ways to the SW, at location 21 on the map.
  • 4 of 9: Looking around the trailer area, you won't find anyone, dead or alive. That'll change when you enter the small station building.
  • 5 of 9: All of the NCR personnel in there are dead. Furthermore, several deadly traps have been set, including frag mines next to two of the bodies and a bottlecap mine next to some fire extinguishers just past a door.
  • 6 of 9: Carefully disarm or safely trigger all of the traps so you can loot the place. Be sure to get and play the Ranger Station Charlie Audio Log 2 (on top of the metal boxes in the entry room) to learn what happened there. Audio log 1 is under one of the desks if you want to hear it, too.
  • 7 of 9: Return to Ranger Andy and tell him everyone at the ranger station was wiped out.
  • 8 of 9: If you tell him the Legion did it, you'll get some Novac fame, some NCR fame, 100 caps, and the Ranger Takedown unarmed move. If you pass a Speech 60 check instead, you'll just get the caps and unarmed move without the fame.
  • 9 of 9: TIP: Before you report on the rangers' fate, talk to Andy about his leg and pass a Speech 30 check to get the unarmed move. You'll then get 200 caps and extra fame for telling him it was the Legion, or 400 caps and regular amounts of fame for lying.
