Fallout 2 Hints

Find the excavator chip.

  • 1 of 6: Several people in town are looking for excavator chips for their mines.
  • 2 of 6: Try Marge LeBarge of the Kokowest Mine or Dan McGrew of the Morningstar Mine.
  • 3 of 6: As far as the short-term of the game goes, it doesn't really matter which mine wins.  About the only difference that your decision will make at all is in the endgame narration, which summarizes your actions throughout the game.
  • 4 of 6: After you have the chip, just deliver it to your favorite mine owner.  I personally supported Marge, since she liked NCR, where Dan was a New Reno backer.
  • 5 of 6: Note that you will also get a similar "quest" along these lines from the mayor.
  • 6 of 6: He will offer to sell you his deed to Wanamingo Mines, and then buy it back at a substantial markup once you've cleaned it of all the aliens.
