Fallout 2 Hints
Traps
Traps will let you detect and disarm traps that have been set by other characters, or improves the chances that you will be able to set an explosive charge without its prematurely going off.
I didn't find this skill very useful. There aren't many traps in the game, all things considered, and many of these were easily avoidable. (That is, one door into a building might be trapped, but another wasn't.) Those that weren't usually just went off once and then were gone for good.
As a result, I found it easy enough just to heal after getting hit by a trap, if I didn't notice it in time to avoid it. And as far as dynamite going off early, although this did happen to me on occasion, I was able to get out of the way early enough not to get hurt. I would generally say that these are skill points better allocated elsewhere.
