Fallout 2 Hints
Science
1 of 2: Science generally affects your ability to use computers and similar machines properly -- especially in terms of hacking into computer systems in various ways.
All things considered, I think this is one of the more valuable skills outside of the combat skills. You will need to be able to access information in computers in a few places, and the skill checks can be pretty high (requiring 100%+ to even have a chance of succeeding). You can get through most essential quests with less, but you might miss some good opportunities.
2 of 2: Note, however, that you can improve this skill (up to about 90%) with repeated readings of the books of science that you will find throughout the game. You might want to get your hands on these books and read them for initial skill increases, and then start allocating your skill points to Science only at higher levels.
