Fallout 2 Hints
How do I sneak my way onto the base?
1 of 5: If the guard at the Brotherhood of Steel in San Francisco sent you on this quest, you should already have an idea of how to do this.
2 of 5: The Enclave is looking for recruits.
3 of 5: First of all, you have to dump your party, at least temporarily. You can leave them behind in San Francisco, as the Brotherhood guard suggests. Or if you don't want to make the trek to Navarro alone, bring them with you, end the conversation with Chris (the gas station guard) as soon as he approaches you, then tell them to stay behind at Navarro.
4 of 5: Either way I played it (leaving my party behind in San Francisco or Navarro), though, I couldn't make this work. You're supposed to be able to tell Chris that you are a recruit, and he'll give you the right password to make your way on the base. That option never appeared for me, however.
5 of 5: Once you have the password, you can then go talk to the guard at the entrance to the base (which is north of the gas station), give him the password, and then be allowed on the base.
