Fallout 2 Hints
About the Quests
The hints for all of the major quests that are in the following sections will be listed according to the same location as listed in your PIP Boy. Note that this is not always the same location where you perform the quest -- especially if you're given a quest in one location and asked to perform it in another. When it doubt, you may want to check all relevant sections of the hints. (Also note that I haven't used the same wording as the game does to describe a quest, particularly since some of the wording would be spoilerful to someone who hasn't found the quest yet.)
The hints also contain information on how to get the quests, in case you're having trouble finding them. Note, however, that due to the large variation possible in terms of both your character's stats and your prior actions, it is likely that you will not be given all available quests in any single playing of the game. (In fact, finishing every quest is impossible, since some are mutually exclusive.) I have listed any additional conditions for a quest that I was aware of, but this doesn't guarantee that the hints will be 100% accurate in your circumstances.
Each section also contains a set of additional hints about things that do not appear as quests in your game, but which are still essential to finishing the game or otherwise may be of interest to you -- particularly in developing the optimal ending to the game. This is not an exhaustive list of things you can do -- things like searching lockers to find good weapons or armor, I leave to the player, for example. Again, as with the quests, not all of these additional options will necessarily appear in every game and for every character.
