Fallout 3 Game Add-Ons (DLC) Hints
(Optional) Become irradiated to gain entrance to the Monastery.
1 of 7: Gerard wants you to have at least 400 rads on you.
2 of 7: If you don't already, there's a local gimmick you can use to quickly get irradiated.
3 of 7: Go over to the small podium in the wrecked house and use its switch.
4 of 7: It's connected to two nearby radiation traps, and can be used to open and close them.
5 of 7: Open them, optionally move closer to them to take rads faster, then run use the switch to close them when you're done.
6 of 7: Remember that you need at least 400 rads to get Gerard to give you the monastery key. (Or if you have at least 200, you can use a Speech Challenge to get the key).
7 of 7: TIP: After you're done with the radiation traps, you can disarm both of them for bonus XP if your Repair skill is high enough.
