Fallout 3 Game Add-Ons (DLC) Hints

Kill General Jingwei.

  • 1 of 9: You'll be frozen upon entering the compound, so just wait until Jingwei says something to you.
  • 2 of 9: You can try to pass a tough Speech Challenge to get him to commit suicide, but you'll probably fail at it. (And it would be tedious to keep restoring and trying again.)
  • 3 of 9: You'll be able to move around after the conversation is over, so start shooting Jingwei and dodging his attacks.
  • 4 of 9: You could try using the gauss rifle on him, but it never seems to knock him down. It is possible to knock his sword out of his hand by targeting it, but it's very hard to pick it up before he does.
  • 5 of 9: You could also try dropping frag mines as you retreat from him, but you may get caught up in the explosions if you're not backing up fast enough.
  • 6 of 9: Add to that the facts that you'll be taking occasional fire from other combatants and there's no way to heal yourself, and this combat becomes ridiculously hard -- especially compared to the rest of this add-on's combats.
  • 7 of 9: Your best chance is to start out by running away from him backwards while dropping frag mines, careful not to get hurt by the blasts. You'll hopefully have at least a dozen of them, and they'll cripple Jingwei's legs in addition to injuring him. When you run out of mines, switch to the gauss rifle and finish him off with that.
  • 8 of 9: If you can never do it, restore the autosave that was made when you entered the compound and try to pass the Speech Challenge. If you fail, restore the autosave and try again until you succeed.
  • 9 of 9: Of course, there's a big problem with that, too. After you restore the autosave, the game will often jam, never giving you the dialogue you're supposed to get. I mean, they *really* screwed this whole thing up bad! If you have a save from right before you entered the compound, you'll want to use it to try to get past the Speech Challenge.
