Fallout 3 Game Add-Ons (DLC) Hints
Find the source of the radio transmissions.
of 8: Go to your Pip-Boy's Data/Radio section to find a new signal called "Wernher's Distress Signal."
of 8: The guy says he's from a settlement to the north, so he's probably holed up somewhere near the north edge of the Capital Wasteland.
of 8: If you make this quest active and check the world map for quest arrows, you'll find that he is indeed along the north edge of the map, fairly close to the MDPL-21 Power Station and SatCom Array NN-03d.
of 8: If you haven't discovered either of those two locations yet, use the Zone 2 map in the main Fallout 3 hint file to help you find one, then proceed from there.
of 8: Look for a radio mast sticking up in the distance, and make your way carefully through the rocky terrain to reach it.
of 8: TIP: There's a path that starts just NW of SatCom Array NN-03d that leads up to the radio tower.
of 8: When you arrive, you'll find that Wernher is under attack from some Pitt raiders. They'll be concentrating on him, so get some easy XP by helping to shoot them down.
of 8: After the combat is over, Wernher will talk to you and explain what he's doing here.
