Fallout 3 Game Add-Ons (DLC) Hints
Are there any places I can go to be sure of getting tri-beam-toting overlords?
1 of 4: There are two such places, but the overlords won't be there until you've finished the main quest series and started on this add-on's quests.
2 of 4: One place is Chevy Chase East in the eastern D.C. metro ruins. You may have discovered that location while on the main quest that had you find Galaxy News Radio. If you fast-travel back there now, you'll find that there's a super mutant overlord nearby who has a tri-beam laser rifle.
3 of 4: The other place is a new super mutant camp that's directly east of Paradise Falls and NW of the Germantown Police HQ. It's a much more dangerous area, since it has two super mutant overlords -- one with a tri-beam laser rifle, and one with a gatling laser. There's also another super mutant up on top of some rocks who'll be firing missiles down at you. Be sure to go heavily armed and armored, and take Fawkes with you.
4 of 4: NOTE: Those two overlords don't ever seem to respawn. For more tri-beam laser rifles, you'll have to visit other super-mutant-infested areas and hope you get lucky.
