Secure passage to Point Lookout.
1 of 5: Tell Tobar you want to buy a ticket, then confirm that you want to risk the dangers of the swamp.
2 of 5: His store inventory will come up, and you can do regular buying and selling with him.
3 of 5: Among his items are some very expensive riverboat tickets. Buy one of them if you have enough money or can sell enough of your stuff to raise the money. (You could try pickpocketing a ticket from him, but that's *very* hard to do undetected.)
4 of 5: NOTE: He also has some punga fruit to sell, as do other food merchants throughout the wasteland from now on. Those are new Point Lookout edible items that reduce rads while restoring hit points, kind of like the cave fungus in Little Lamplight. However, each fruit portion weighs a pound, and you can get lots more healing from stimpaks and lots more rads removed by radaway items -- both of which are weightless and far more common than punga fruit.
