Fallout 3 Game Add-Ons (DLC) Hints

Travel with Desmond to the Professor.

  • 1 of 12: Follow Desmond out of the panic room, then fast-travel to the lighthouse (or run there if you haven't discovered it yet).
  • 2 of 12: Go inside, then follow Desmond down into the newly revealed Underground Lab area.
  • 3 of 12: Go down a couple of ramps, then check the side room for supplies, including a gatling laser.
  • 4 of 12: Go on down to the room where Desmond is waiting for you, then raid it for items (including four packs of rare mesmetron power cells next to a dead terminal) before using the switch to the right of the door to open it.
  • 5 of 12: When you do, the turrets in the room will turn hostile unless you hacked the locked terminal and deactivated them (or shot and destroyed them). Also watch for a hostile robobrain past the door.
  • 6 of 12: Head down the long hallway, looting side rooms as you go. One of them has four more mesmetron power cell packs on a table, plus one on the large computer console. Another side room has three pre-war books that Scribe Yearling back in the wasteland will buy.
  • 7 of 12: Past that is a circular room with a turret. After blasting the turret, raid the ammo stash, which includes four more mesmetron cell packs. (Note that a game glitch may prevent you from getting one of the cell packs and opening the two ammo boxes.)
  • 8 of 12: The room's east and west doors will close and lock. You can reopen them if you hack the terminal that's next to the east door, but doing so isn't necessary.
  • 9 of 12: Use the terminal to open the doors, then go through the east one and down to a short hallway with a turret at the other end. There's also a robobrain in a side room, so blast it after the turret is toast.
  • 10 of 12: Get a level beta security badge from the robobrain or a table in its room, then search the other rooms for supplies before using the terminal next to the locked door to open it.
  • 11 of 12: Search the locker room for more stuff, including another gatling laser, then go down another long hall with a robobrain and side rooms to reach another round room with ceiling turrets.
  • 12 of 12: Past that is the room with the "professor" (or what's left of him) in it.
